Relaxing
at the GREAT NORTHERN can mean a variety of things. There
is a pier to fish off; free fishing and paddleboats, and a lakeside
area for a barbecue or just a leisurely get together with friends.
Inside or outside there is nothing missing to make your stay at
the GREAT NORTHERN a most enjoyable one.
Be
sure to bring the kids along. There is a large beach just
a few feet away from the Motel, which is shallow and crystal clear.
If it is too cold outside, enjoy our swimming pool. Whirlpool
and sauna. Here too one gets the feeling of being “one”
with nature as the large picture windows combine the comforts
of the indoors with the scenic surroundings of the great outdoors.
For the kids there is also a game room serving as a close-by baby
sitter.
IN
THE HEART OF ALL ACTIVITY
There
are unlimited recreational opportunities and adventures waiting
for you on a year around basis. Take advantage of the over 200
lakes within a 20 mile radius of the GREAT NORTHERN with public
access. Also, there are many waterfalls and scenic rivers
for hikers, canoeing and photo hunters. All this in by far
the wildest of Wisconsin’s recreational areas. For the hunters
there is white tail deer, black bear, ruffed grouse, ducks, geese
and other small game. Needless to say, it’s equally as exciting
for the fisherman who can fish for walleye, musky, bass or crappies.
TO
BE PRESERVED FOREVER TURTLE-FLAMBEAU FLOWAGE
With
its 19,000 acres of water and 150 miles of shoreline, it is by
far the wildest of Wisconsin’s recreational areas. Fishermen
will love the challenge the flowage provides, whether it’s walleye,
musky, jumbo perch, bass or crappies. Wildlife is abundant
here. You are sure to see deer, otter, beaver, bald eagles,
and the majestic loon. The many islands and peninsulas with their
picnic tables and sand beaches provide excellent camping and swimming.
The cry of the loon and the howl of the coyote are the closest
you’ll come to an alarm clock in this vast wilderness. Only
minutes away from the GREAT NORTHERN MOTEL. There is plenty
of parking for trucks, trailers, and RV’s. We consider our
guests to be #1.
NEVER
AT A LOSS FOR SOMETHING TO DO

south of the GREAT NORTHERN MOTEL.
